"Transformers: Exiles"- Plot Description

Just after finding out the Transformers: Exiles release date of September 27th from author Alex Irvine's tweets, we now find out a small tease from Amazon.com's listing of the book, given in the product description.

Warning! It's not too spoiler-y, but you may not want to read it, if you want full surprise and awe when you read the novel for yourself.

" The epic battles between Optimus Prime and Megatron have long thrilled Transformers fans. But these two giants weren’t always great leaders and bitter foes. This new novel continues the electrifying saga that started with Transformers: Exodus, unveiling the origins of the conflict—the explosive events that unfolded before Optimus and Megatron arrived Earthside, forever altering the destiny of their kind.

Once allies, Optimus and Megatron are now enemies in a civil war. To prevent Cybertron from falling into Megatron’s hands, Optimus jettisons the planet’s heart, the AllSpark, into space, then sets out to find it with Megatron hot on his heels. Optimus is determined to defeat Megatron, bring the AllSpark home, and restore Cybertron to its former glory.

But a saboteur lurks aboard Optimus’s spaceship, and ahead lie lost colonies, some of them hostile. Optimus needs help of the highest caliber, but from whom? It sounds like the author is trying to tie two universes together here. Here's my question: since the first book was based on the first WFC game, will the second book be the basis for the WFC2? It is an interesting direction at the very least...

Overall, I liked Exodus, but I have to agree with those who say something got lost in the latter half of the book. My feeling is it became less of a novel and more of a chronicle, a simple log of the battles, between the war's initiation and the Autobot's departure from Cybertron. It got bogged down in the various battles. O still will get Exiles though.

Vector Prime... Nexus Prime... Solus Prime!!! Hello, new 13er!

I wonder who the saboteur could be. And if the Battle of Technar (which Skyquake spoke of) will be covered in this story.

It would seem very likely, considering how chapters 16-38 of Exodus were loosely parallel to the WFC1 console game.

Also, attention Seibertronians. For the past several months, I have been vigorously working an extensive project revolving around the continuity Exodus novel in regards to other continuities. I am currently almost done with it and shall post it once the final touches have been laid upon it. Trust me when I say that this Exodus project is going to be "massive".

I can't believe I'm actually going to buy four books this year...after I finished college for the second time I swore I was never going to read again. But here I am with a checklist of four novels to buy this year: DOTM, the prequel, Exiles, and the new 007 novel Carte Blanche. May need to get my glasses checked.
