Via Takara Tomy Mall, we have our first look at official images of the upcoming Legends series releases LG-44 Sharkticon with Sweep, LG-45 Targetmaster Hot Rodimus, and LG-46 Targetmaster Char (better known as Kup to the Western world). These are set for release in September to help you build your ranks of Sharkticons, or relive memories of 1987 and your old Targetmaster Hot Rod with Firebolt or Targetmaster Kup with Recoil. We've mirrored the images from Takara Tomy Mall below for you to enjoy.

Yeah...same here. He's not magenta but he still looks good. Also it looks like hiding the engine doesn't push his chest in all the way.maybe it's just the angle

Edit: oh they completely reboot led his chest losing the waist detail. That's...kinda lame. Well I got 5 months to decide I guess.

Okay, so Tak Kup blows Hasbro kup out of the water. That mold looks and works so much better here. However, why the hell can't we just get a blue Kup, with a blue head, that actually looks like Kup?! After saying no to the previous generations one, and banking on this, I'm fairly disappointed.

I find it ironic that that Rodimus was the last wave 3 deluxe I got, and after all the searching, he shows up on troves in stores and now Takara has a target master version....... why must everything good be available this month?!?!? I seriously can't get anything else after the chaos on velocitron box.' :BOOM:

It certainly is an odd choice. On the bright side he has an all new head and arms.

Oh wow these are gorgeous. Kup has retooled arms along with the face. Love the little Warrio stache on the sweep head. Those targetmasters are really cool too. Now I just have to decide what to do with my Hasbro hotrod.

Simple - Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Scourge and Cyclonus were not released as Targetmasters in Japan. However, Hot Rod and Kup later got a re-issue in Japan that included their American Targetmasters - so those two have precedence for this while the other three do not. We can fully expect to see Targetmasters for Triggerhappy, Misfire and Slugslinger I think

When I first saw the kup mold I thought it looked like a piece of shit, especially in the weird toilet cleaner blue. The dark grey though it's not really kups colors but i guess its good. Yeah it's good. Pretty Damn good.

Also I love the WaLuigi Sweep.

It's not Hot Rod. If you look at the color scheme, Takara has pretty much turned Hot Rod into Rodimus Prime.His colors match perfectly with Rodimus Prime, minus the trailer attachment of course.

I'm assuming these colors schemes best match the Japanese Headmasters series, not the US G1 series, that's why Kup is grey. So neither version is giving you a G1 animated series color scheme, you're either getting a G1 toy homage, or a Japanese Headmasters homage. :KREMZEEK:

He was teal in headmasters. He wasn't ever grey in the headmasters show.

Well that was unexpected. Not only do they get actual Targetmasters, but they also got retooled as well. I suppose that makes them worthy of a repurchase. Not a big fan of Hot Rod's new chest that doesn't seem to sit right in car mode and gold leaf flames or Kup being gray for some reason (another case of the design team using the wrong screen cap for source material). And to think, people swore that if Targetmasters were done in this line they wouldn't also be Headmasters.

Now I'm a little sour that Ginrai didn't get a proper engine mode. This does add credit to the theory that Overlord will be retooled to be as tall as Super Ginrai, though, if they're willing to go this far with Deluxe figures.

I don't think that's a new chest piece on Rodimus. It just seems to be that the front of the bumper you're supposed to fold under the chest on Hot Rod is not folded under here.

It's new. The front doesn't fold and the engine disappears.

These...don't look very good to me. Rodimus looks pretty terrible in those colors and with the new chest. Kup has a nice deco but why is he grey? And that head is just :SICK:

. I could see the figure working as a generic Autotrooper with a new head though. I think I prefer Hasbro's pastel Sharkticon as well.

The new Targetmasters look really sweet though and the new Sweep head looks cool.

Sharkticon's deco looks great. Not loving the Dali mustache on the Sweep.

I'm impressed that they created Targetmasters for Hot Rod and Kup. Wish they'd remove the Headmaster gimmick for the eventual Decepticon jets, but that's not going to happen.

Come to think of it, it makes sense Rodimus' hood was retooled - they haven't shown the weapons their Hasbro counterparts come with implying they don't have them; so there's no need for the slots on Hot Rod's hood where the weapon would usually go. So instead they turned it into a Targetmaster slot.

Ok, in my opinion, these blow Hasbro's version of all 3 out of the water. Hot Rod looks incredible with that deco. Kup is gorgeous even if it isn't blue, and his new head and shoulders look really good. And that Sharkticon... I am in love

Looks dumb, going to need a Reprolabel to cover that and the stupid half translucent, half yellow paint headlights.

I don't understand the Sharkticon's colors, the gray tail and shark arms are accurate to neither the cartoon or the original toy.

Triggerhappy's head will be retooled i think
Although in this picture he's too dark to be seen, along with these 3 with their Accurate color scheme

Rather than that, the weapons from them will be different
Looks like Takara will be adding some Targetmasters for them too because why not? :-P

I will say the only thing i'm disappointed about in regards to the sharkticon, is the fact the figure doesn't have chromed out Marilyn Manson teeth. Still in love with the Wa-Sweep.

I thought this would be a proper teal Kup. Since it is not, it is an easy skip. Maybe they will later release the Hasbro headmaster alone in proper teal.

Hot Rod's flames are not gold leaf, this is translucent plastic. It looks pre-broken for your convenience.
