It's early access at Hascon, but it will later see wider distribution... somehow somewhere.

Not wide retail. It is said to later be available as a retailer exclusive, so just TRU, or BBTS, or maybe just HTS.

Uhhhhhhg. And there goes my hope of getting it, at least at a price I'd be willing to pay . Ah well, best wishes to those that do get and enjoy it! It looks like a pretty nice piece of plastic, if I do say so myself.

Its your old pal X riding out hurricane Irma and boy is she wet lol! Since im trapped inside and can use some entertainment, maybe you can offer us some tibits about non Transformers stuff at Hascon for s**t and giggles...
Did Dude perfect splash the crowd with supersoakers?
Did chewbacca mom eat 10 hot dogs during her pannel?
Did you hear the crickets chirping at the duengons and dragons display?
And what horrifying things did fans engage in at the MLP extravaganza?
Post some videos, share some stories, make us laugh ! Enquiring minds want to know...

Yeah, that's pretty poor. I hope there was an audible sound of all the eyes rolling.
DMSL wrote:The Dinobots look good, but Deluxe class is too small for these, they should all be at least Voyager class.
Especially since the Predacons are said to be all voyagers.
Congratulations to Susan Blu indeed. Doesn't she do a lot of directing of voice actors on the more recent shows?
There's far too much positivity about these figures. Allow me to counter.
I know this is the only way we'll ever get The Thirteen from Hasbro, but I'm still disappointed they're only Titan Masters. I'm hoping a third party will have a shot at them, maybe incorporate a compartment for the official figures to keep to gimmick alive.
Optimus Prime's vehicle mode isn't great, but I like the figure overall, just not sure I have a desire for it.
As for the Dinobots; oh, dear. I get that the clear plastic armour is a homage to G1, but using it on Snarl and Sludge's back legs is poor. Perhaps Sludge references his fate in FoC, having lost his legs and so now he has ghost legs. Swoop's alright, but the rest look a little cheap. The combined mode doesn't excite me either. The proportions are giving me flashbacks to FoC Bruticus. That's not only killed it for me, but inspired me to get a third party Dino-combiner.

But it was said at the panel that neither figure will be happening at any point, because they were deemed "too obscure to release in the toyline by Hasbro".
......."Too obscure"..............
Even though Megatronus was a major villain in Robots in Disguise recently. And he was in one of the Michael Bay films (albeit under his old name). And the Generations toyline recently featured the incredibly obscure Lione and Shuffler. And Power of the Primes is a toyline centered around Primes....

Not to mention the recent releases of Sawback/Lione, Shuffler, and an Optimus Prime colored like Star Convoy.Kurona wrote:Munkky wrote:But it was said at the panel that neither figure will be happening at any point, because they were deemed "too obscure to release in the toyline by Hasbro".

But as the price point increases, you need more justification to buy the product. And one of the best ways is to attach a popular name like Megatron, Starscream or Soundwave to it. So that's why I could understand this applying to a Leader and not a Legends or Titan Master... except, again, friggin' Sky Shadow

I know I'm not Takara, but if I had to guess, it's probably because it didn't need to be. I agree that it seems like a bad business-move to release the exact same thing at a higher price, but what could we possibly (reasonably) have asked for that Hasbro didn't already do? In this particular instance, I think it's more a case of Hasbro being really incredibly on the ball rather than Takara falling off of it.

Paint on the Titan Master for one.
Plus a darker grey plastic to be more show accurate.
Plus, he wasnt released at a higher price. Isnt Trypticon $299 AUD where you are? Thats 26080 Yen and he's currently being sold for 15682 Yen at Japanese retail so about $179 AUD. Its Hasbro (well more like your local TRU) who is selling the same thing at a higher price.
Anyways, its all different markets, Hasbro and Takara arent competing for our dollars, and on average both Legends Trypticon and Titans Return Trypticon sold for the same amount in their respective markets.
Kurona wrote:People were trying to use the glossy wall's reflection to sneak a peak at the back of Starscream's box, so Hasbro later put a sheet of paper behind the box to stop that.
I dont know why, the back of POTP Voyagers dont have cross sells of different classes and dont show the combined mode. They only show the official images we already saw plus the power masters you can plug into them.

Man, that made me realize that Fort Max reuses the Metroplex runways. I dont own Metroplex so I never connected that aspect. Man, now I am pissed again that it couldnt be ramps like in G1 to both increase playability and cover those damn fists

- Indeed, the yellow parts on the Fortress Maximus prototype are repurposed from Metroplex. Quite a lot actually, I'd say between 30% and 40%.
- the TR Megatron is a hybrid, as it uses the Blitzwing chest and not the Megatron one. Oops?
- DotM Skywarp, Blaster, G2-colored Space Case... Battle Damaged WfC and Prime FE Bumblebee with Scraplets. So much lost potential

Via TakaraTomy, but not via Hasbro. Note how there are some deco differences between the two:

And Blitzwing's tank barrel too. In fact it looks like this might just be Blitzwing with Megatron's head, possibly from the earlier stages of secondary-use planning. (Though without colors, where does the point of differentiation lie between Blitz and Megs anyway?)JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Pretty interesting gallery to say the least.

Fair points, though I'm inclined to agree with the idea I've seen floating around that perhaps the darker shade of grey is being reserved for a hypothetical Gigastorm (some sort of exclusive, probably, if it does happen by some small chance). Painted Titan Master though, I'll admit I totally forgot about that one. Points conceded.william-james88 wrote:Qwan wrote:I know I'm not Takara, but if I had to guess, it's probably because it didn't need to be. Yeah, you're right! I guess I confused import costs with actual cost of the item; I tend to forget sometimes that Takara is first and foremost a toy company for Japan, rather than a collectables service that operates out of Japan for us Westerners to get our fancy toys.william-james88 wrote:Plus, he wasnt released at a higher price. happens to the best of us
I mean I totally get where you are coming from when people weigh pros and cons and take the complete cost into account, makes sense. But here we were talking about business decisions, and Takara sees 0 extra profit from the extra fee importers add to those product to recoup their costs.

Good luck with that. These may go faster given its a smaller price point of a figure fans have been craving.

Looking at this image, it appears that Starscream is set to follow a Silverbolt/Cyclonus styled transformation and combining Shtick. After all, Galvatronus' chest always did look like a seekers and his head crest could pass for a starscream crown!
