Based on the info that came from CinemaCon, Galvatron seems to come in rather early in the movie, within the first act. He's a lifeless, manmade mech remote-controlled by humans, created by the government in their attempts to hunt down and kill the Autobots. Optimus, having lost faith in humanity, has gone into hiding and, disguised as a beat up old white flat-fronted semi, gets bought by the Texan inventor Cade Yeager, a single father down on his luck who's trying to pay to put his daughter, Tessa, through college. She's secretly dating an Irish racer of a boyfriend, Shane Dyson, despite her dad having a "no dating" policy. When the government comes knocking on their door looking for Optimus, Cade resists at first, but when the agents, led by James Savoy and working for Harold Attinger, start using his daughter, Optimus bursts out of hiding and opens fire on the humans. After a chase scene that leads all the main humans and Optimus to a highway, Galvatron enters the scene, sent by Joshua, the lead scientist who created the manmade Transformers, and does battle with Optimus. However, their fight is interrupted by the arrival of a massive space ship, whose pilot, the neutrally-aligned bounty hunter Lockdown, exits and comes forward for Optimus. He basically mops the floor with Optimus and takes him into custody, inadvertently also scooping up Tessa who was trapped in some debris from the previous fight, as Lockdown didn't just grab Optimus but all the surrounding scrap nearby as well. As Optimus and Tessa are taken into the ship, Cade and Shane run after her by fail to reach her in time. Not much else is known about the rest of the movie other than Stinger being another manmade TF designed after Bumblebee, Savoy and Cade have a chase scene across Hong Kong rooftops and fire escapes, the Dinobots come into play somehow, Lockdown belongs to no faction and is working for somebody who's mad about Cybertronians and humans having interacted with each other (which was something that Megatron was never bothered by), there are no signs of any genuine Decepticons in this movie as of yet, and there's a scene where Cade pilots part of a ship that he crash-lands into a beer truck and damages some guy's car nearby. The driver of said car irately demands Cade's insurance to cover the damage, to which Cade responds with something like "Insurance? This is a space ship!" He drinks a can of beer from the truck, tosses it at the guy's car, turns to his daughter and says something like, "Honey, get me my alien gun."LE0KING wrote:Anyone want to hear my crackpot assumptions on how this movie is going to go down?
I bet the dinobots are going to be the mindless villains for the first half of the movie then Galvatron is going to pop up and kick the autobots' butts forcing Optimus to "tame" Grimlock and ride him into battle. Either going to be awesome or really lame.
That's all we know.

nice imagination, but I don't think it will go exactly that way... I believe Galvatron is still alive (as a mind controlled slave on a metallic jail... his own body), fixed and re-powered by human government out of his leftovers from last movie, and optimus is facing similar luck but not mind controlled, but still getting fix by Cade (which I think is the main point here, the ones who seek power, slave souls/minds regardless of kind, besides the human nature is pure freedom). and this should be one of the reasons why optimus lost faith on human kind but seems to find hope thanks to Cade. Just my opinion.

What imagination? I didn't make any of that up. All that came from the many reports on the 15 minutes of footage shown at CinemaCon 2014, and from Entertainment Weekly's article on the movie:BERSEKAEL wrote:nice imagination,

But don't you see how far in the background Drift and Optimus are? Depth perception makes Grimlock look a LOT bigger than he is in comparison to the two 'Bots.

I do now, looking at the still. But when I saw the spot and this scene was on for a split second, my attention was solely on Grimlock.

... so where exactly says "Galvatron is lifeless"? therefore nice imagination, no touching some other points. I still have my own opinion about this movie, and I believe the same "metaphor" between Cade and his daughter (father trying to dictate on his daughter's heart... no boyfriends) is happening on the macro context (government slaving/remote-controlling Galvatron who is still alive inside his own body). Just my opinion.

The government agents pull out their very OWN Transformer, Galvatron. Back at the base there's a younger agent who appears to be piloting Galvatron via joystick. Galvatron is their puppet! Optimus and the piloted Transformer spar, and Optimus is losing.
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Transformers-Age-Extinction-CinemaCon-Footage-Brings-Dinosaurs-Explosions-More-42240.html
It’s revealed that Galvatron is actually a remote-controlled Transformer (being manipulated from a control room by Stanley Tucci’s character and a random guy) who was presumably created so that humans would have a weapon against a future alien invasion.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/25/mark-wahlberg-michael-bays-transformers-age-of-extinction-will-break-dwayne-the-rock-johnsons-box-office-record
Galvatron is a man-made Transformer...Basically, these are Transformer drones.
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/cinemaconnews.php?id=116337
Galvatron, who seems to be controlled by someone at the command of Stanley Tucci's character...Tucci in the control room tells the person controlling Galvatron to get him out of there.
It would be completely foolish of the government to grant actual life and independent thought to machines that they create to essentially be pawns to be exploited. And, honestly, how would the government even be able to create life for these things, especially with the AllSpark long gone and no easy access to the Matrix inside Optimus' chest? They aren't gods, after all.

Second of all - why would anyone in America want to spend a bazillion hours on a plane to fly halfway across the world, just to watch a movie a week early, when there's probably a theater showing it 20 mins away from their home? Yeeelch. No thank you.

I'd do it if I had the money.
The time zone thing is annoying, though. I have to wait until 3 AM.

In no particular order, things to note while watching this new trailer:
- Featuring all new battle scenes
- Cade (Mark Wahlberg) giving Optimus a pep talk so he'll still believe in the cause
- Extended Optimus riding Grimlock sequence
- Lockdown and Hound in action
- Ratchet makes an appearance (should help alleviate some fan fears)
- Scientists figuring out how the Transformers are made and what they're made out of
- Voice over by Optimus Prime
Transformers Age Of Extinction hits theaters on June 27th and this little tidbit will have to tide us over until then.

Actually I flew four hours to Sydney for the world premiere of the first film two weeks before it's official release date. They provided the movie tickets but I had to get there on my own.
Given that it was the big premiere and Michael Bay, Megan Fox and Rachel Taylor plus a host of local "celebrities" (a term best used loosely to describe those that turned up) I figured this was going to be one of those once in a life time things. So $700 for flights and accommodation and I was there.

I was disappointed to hear Bee make his Squeak, finally putting to rest any hope that he would actually talk in this movie.
Kinda annoying the the Imagine Dragons spot showed a lot of the cool stuff.
I'm intrigued by the part at the beginning with Galvatron on a table - the way he was there almost looks like they were dissecting him. Didn't look like he was being built or anything like that - So WAS he built by Humans or merely reprogrammed / controlled - which I would prefer in some respects as it means he has the potential to become Autonomous later in the film and actually BE Galvatron rather than a puppet.
