We have not one but two video reviews to share with you today. Both are for wave 3 Legacy deluxe toys and both are from JoeyBoy. If anyone wonders how people can get toys so early, well we already posted a link in the SG Perceptor story where even that never before seen toy was available. Some fans wanting early reviews just buy from those Asian sites like Shopee and pay extra on top of that for a forwarding service, mystery solved for anyone wondering.

About Crankcase though, fans who preordered on Amazon.com are saying that it shows the toy as being shipped soon. Which would be nuts as the wave 2 deluxes haven't even shipped yet form them. So we'll see, could just be an error in the system.

Let us now what you think of these two toys!

Amazon is already shipping Crankcase early in the US. Mine is supposed to be here Monday along with Skullgrin. Wasn't expecting either until January.

Did they actually ship? Or just show the date moved up. Apparently Amazon moved a bunch of dates on different products up, but they didn't ship and then the dates fell back again. A buddy had that happen with the Black Series Dark Troopers yesterday

Hard to tell. My minions have had Legacy Blitzwing on order from Amazon for several months. It's 'scheduled' to ship in October. But the figure has been popping up on store shelves for at least 2-3 weeks, so I'm wondering why Amazon hasn't bumped up their shipping dates as well. Clearly, their ways are not our ways....

Looking at it, it doesn't say they have actually shipped. I guess I'll find out Monday...

people have been talking about shopee on reddit for a while now it wasn't until recently that someone other than PvP got his figures early, when asked he said "the same place PvP and most of the reviewers get their stuff from early, a site called shopee."

So anyone that gets their figs super early now we know where they are getting them from.
But now where is shopee getting them from?

I still say some guy stole and smuggled Scorponok out using his prison pouch.

:p

Shame crankcase didn't come with skids extra guns as they could have been worked into extending the shoulder cannons in bot mode. The front frill as a weapon looks garbage, if it was modular then it could have been cooler. The decepticon symbol facing is one thing that has been corrected so yay.

Honestly, I dont have a strong opinion either way if others use it. Admittedly it would be pretty cool to be the first person to report finding something, but at the cost of shipping that is more than the item itself, and for it to come by dubious means (often without packaging, and sometimes missing accessories), isn't worth the hassle.

Still, maybe one of us will be like the guy in Las Vegas (or Arizona? I cant remember), that happened to find Kingdom Rhinox at a good ol' Target, and be the first to seemingly have it, before any of the early reviewers.

Anyway...outside of Motormaster and Metroplex (which to me are technically outside of normal waves since they are one offs), I haven't seen anything from Legacy Wave 2 in my area, nor anything from SS beyond the first wave early this year.

I did get Red Cog from a local Target, and have seen all the Velocitron stuff at Walmart aside from Scourge. (well I actually didn't see Cosmos or Clampdown, but their 3 less popular wave mates were easily found)

The same thing happened with my Dark Trooper but I think it was the Deluxe Vintage Collection version. The date got pushed back to later in September but it's still coming early.

A lot of the guys on the TFW2005 Amazon thread have gotten emails saying the wave 3 figures now have no delivery dates or they did the credit card trick and the shipping was updated to no delivery date. My gut tells me these won't be coming early, I just hope it's not older stock that has been mismarked with the wrong UPC, good luck then getting the Wave 3 figures from Amazon.

I just had UPS drop off the Wave 2 deluxe figures from Toy Arena, I got tired of waiting for Amazon to ship one figure out at a time.

Did they move back too? It makes ZERO sense to me that these sets will be released almost a YEAR after the show promoting them aired.

So a hinge on motormaster that holds the white part of his shoulder onto his body has completely split, so that's great, hoping it doesn't ruin anything on the figure

So I went to a near by Target during my lunch and saw for the second time same store Metroplex and that really big price tag just staring back. I thought to myself if maybe...just maybe were I to get this somewhere down the road for much less he definitely wouldn't be Metroplex at all in my fold.

I would always have his alternate face and just one arm wielding away his saw just causing havoc where ever...'nuff said!

As you all saw from this pas week's news, it has now been uncovered where people get toys early for reviews (it was known for a little while but now it has been brought to the surface for all to see). So, it is no surprise that we are getting more early reviews for products that were available to order on Shopee, like Skullgrin. This particular review is from Chefatron and in it we get to see all the features that Skullgrin has to offer and what he does not offer. For instance, fans were hoping there would be a robot head hiding under the monster head. Well, there is not. Also, the guns are soft plastic which is the main complaint fans are expressing right now, you'll let us know if this matters to you. Also, in terms of the range of height within a deluxe class, Skullgrin is not on the higher end, as we can see in the image below. He's about as tall as the Sharkticon.

Anyway, can the head easily be removed and is it on a ball joint? If so, I might be able to cobble together a replacement robot head instead for it.

Amazon came through again today, this time with Blitzwing.
I know others have had issues with them in the past but they have earned my trust.

Blitzwing is incredibly good imo.
The robot mode is so good. Because it’s the most important mode of pretty much every character (outside of the Sharkticons) for me, this is the definitive version for my collection.
I’ll also mention that in-hand the tank mode is better than I expected.

This really has me wishing Hastak would go in on a re-do of Astrotrain in the next year. Fingers are crossed for a new Octane.

I can understand why some still would claim previous versions of Blitzy are better; Legacy’s jet mode is really bad overall. It had potential when you consider the main area of the jet— the proportions are very good.
But this figure has such a great bot mode, that the jet doesn’t ruin for me.
In fact, because I appreciate animation accuracy, this guy is one of the best for me, & is right up there with Cyclonus, & most of the SS86 line.
Sure, the Energon fists are beyond stupid, but I’m so happy to finally have this figure in my collection!!

My hopes for a proper Pretenders-gimmick-revival continues to diminish, but I'll be damned if I don't get this guy. Core Iguanus is pretty great, so I have no doubts this guy and Bombshell will be solid figures as well. At this point I hope Bludgeon is a hit, if not I might cry.

Until the time comes when Hasbro makes Pretender armour/shells a thing, related characters will just be shoehorned into existing lines. They still need to do proper Headmaster Juniors and some other G1 characters correctly before they get around to Pretenders too...

Will posted it a few weeks to a month ago, I can't find the post. The gist of it is that it's Hasbro's problem and if they aren't doing anything to fix it like getting the channels shut down, asking us not to post the videos or, you know, stopping the leaks out of the factory, all things they're capable of doing, then why should we care?

What's the logic behind those soft guns? I can understand melee weapons with lots of huge spikes and pointy bits, but standard cylindrical/flat guns?

Boo on soft plastic in general. The only time I can see the excuse of using it is on parts that might get a lot of stress, and need some flexibility to keep them from snapping. But that doesn't seem to be the case with Legacy Skullgrin. None of the parts where they used soft plastic would seem to 'benefit' from it having been used. Especially those weapon accessories. Like Blitzwing's sword, there was no reason to use the rubbery materials, they just went cheap and lazy.

As to allowing the publicization of figure reviews from dodgey sources? Well, in the end that's seibertron's business. Just like it's Hasbro's business if they don't want to prevent leaks and pilfering from their factory floors, in return for some early 'buzz' on their work.

Still - it leaves a sour taste in the mouths of everyone who doesn't have a network of internal spies and thieves in the factories to give them the edge. Like with hacks and cheats in online games, it conveys the bad message: "if you can't beat the cheaters, join 'em".

UGH Watching the pointblank video and reading so many people bitch bitch bitch, look they don't have to be making these figures at all, and honestly I hope they stop making them (I know they won't but one can hope) just to shut up so many whiny bitchy fanboys. I love Transformers dearly, they were a HUGE part if what got me through family issues in the 80's and they are one of my passions but to shut others up and make them miserable I would sacrifice something I love to prove that point.

Same here. I can be influenced, but only if I have some doubts at the very start. Especially when the thing I want is at double or triple the price on the secondary market.

Even then, I often bought "hated" toys that turn out amazing, and other times I bought toys that was deemed the "second coming of Jesus" but I found them to be just "meh" or horrible.

I say reviews are just a guide, not the absolute.

This right here but so many weak minded people or sheeple follow these youtubers like they are some kind of God and their words are gospel.
