The first core class toys from the Studio Series line have now been found on US shelves. Shockwave and Ravage, both from the Bumblebee Movie, were found at a Texas Walmart which looked really well stocked, especially coming out of the Christmas shipping season. Th photo was posted by @PopCultureJunk2 on Twitter. As can be seen in the picture below, these core class figures were placed on pegs a little off from the main Transformers section, which was too full.
Spike will be in wave 2 and he has already been found in the middle east so that wave could show up soon in other places as well.
If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

To me, if it could be broken evenly into parts, that would mean Predacons Rising doesn't count as a Movie in the same context as BW2. Following the logic of that, every multipart Transformers story could be classified as a film. Five Faces of Darkness, The Rebirth, Other Voices, The Agenda etc, etc Which isn't the case.
The original intent of Predacon rising was a straight to video movie release. What happens after doesn't matter.

Exactly. TF:TM was split into 5 parts in 1988/89 and shown with other episodes in the puppet prime reruns. That dosen't make it any less of movie. Same for Predacons Rising.

Yes, but I'm not hugely pleased with Ravage. He doesn't look good in either mode, or in Soundwave's chestwilliam-james88 wrote:transformers_va wrote:Just found Shockwave & Ravage today in a Virginia Walmart... looked to have several in stock

I'll give you that, but there is a bit of a difference in feel of production value between theatrical releases and "made-for-TV" or "straight-to-DVD": the latter category is notorious for lackluster sequels of successful theatrical movies, plus the lower budget really shows.

Wave 2 (Nova Blast Bumblebee, Cryofire Predaking, Bombshock & Soundwave, Night Shadow Bumblebee vs. Blight) had limited distribution in the US, and none if any anywhere else including Canada and Europe.

Similar to how all of WB major films in 2021 were released in theaters and on HBO Max the same day . Except PR only aired once before the DVD release, and still as a single film.

Is the same also true of "Transform and Roll Out" and "TransWarped"? As they too were later split into episode form after their initial broadcasts as TV specials.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:So then it's a "TV movie" rather than a "DVD movie".o.supreme wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It aired on TV first, four days before its DVD release.william-james88 wrote:AllNewSuperRobot wrote:

Neither special from TFA was advertised as an actual film.

Sure there are. Part 1, for instance, ends right as Unicron arrives at Darkmount and speaks the line "Minions of the Prime, prepare to be obliterated!!" There's a big trumpet fanfare accompanying this part that's meant to close it out in episode form, but in the movie form it is edited to seamlessly transition into the very next shot that is the beginning of Part 2.o.supreme wrote:There are no obvious act breaks.
This is how they did it for all of Prime's multi-parters that were later released on DVD in combined movie form. The final black screens of each episode were taken out and the music was scored in such a way that each episode's last composition would transition seamlessly into the first one of each next episode.
When the first three episodes of season 3 aired in Singapore as a single TV special, the beginning and end of each episode was blended together exactly like this, making the cliffhanger endings of the first and second episodes transition seamlessly into the first shot of the second and third episodes, respectively. When it first aired, it was really hard to tell where each part ended and the next part began because it genuinely felt like one whole piece instead of multiple pieces merged together.
Same with the DVD movie version of "Darkness Rising". Watching that version knowing where each part was supposed to start and stop, the moments of transition were so smooth that they never felt like the beginning and end of two different episodes stitched together, but like the same single episode five times longer than normal.
Meanwhile, "Transform and Roll Out" only feels like two parts merged together instead of three, as the transition between its first two parts is extremely subtle. Part 3's beginning, however, is very obvious since the music changes so drastically and the scene cut does go to black very briefly, but not brief enough to be unnoticeable. When "TransWarped" first aired as a movie, all three of its parts were likewise seamlessly woven together, much like the Prime DVD movies.

I don't recall those being hard to find at all, though I do regret passing on the Legion 2 packs, but they aren't ridiculously overpriced on eBay (trying to import Rot Gut from Europe for under $50 on the other hand...). Only two figures that got NA releases but were pretty impossible to find in the US is wave 5 Voyagers Optimus Prime and Predaking, but that was still regular line.

I litteraly have to buy all these figures form import shops in The Netherlands.
Probably 10% will be in our real physical Toys r Us toystores and that will take atleast another 6 months to a year.
I know we have celestial level better healthcare in our country but man the toy availability brings us collecters here to tears.
Toyhunting is something of the very distant past here.

I will say that we can/do complain a lot about this or that in terms of inconveniences and such, but we are quite lucky compared to literally the rest of the world when it comes just about everything and take it for granted far too often. I'm truly surprised at the ignorance of my fellow countrymen of what goes on in other parts of the World.
I personally find it annoying not to be able to find this type of stuff at retail anymore even though it seems so much easier just to put in a pre-order and forget it. It get grief all the time for wanting to physically touch and inspect the item before buying it. lol

It's odd that Movie 1 is only missing a SS Frenzy, and Movie 6 is almost done as well. Still a LOT of ground to cover in movies 2-5,

Pretty much.
Although, I would argue we need another attempt at Dropkick to give him his proper triple changing body design, even if he only turns into the chopper. Shatter nailed the triple changer look with only 1 alt mode, Dropkick needs that now too. Both have toys of both modes, both have a toy of their bodies in only car mode, and Shatter has the proper triple changing robot mode design. Just Dropkick baby...
We do have some gaps to fill, especially in TLK's direction.
RotF I think at this point only really needs the twins in both modes, Alice, Scalpel, and of course THE FALLEN.
DotM still somehow needs Que, Hatchet, a retooled Ironhide and Bumblebee, maybe a dropship, Devcon, and maybe some more generics from the cons arriving on earth?
AOE needs a new attempt at evasion mode Prime and Bee, the 3 Dinobots not called Grimlock, maybe a new attempt at Knight Prime and ninja Bee, a new Galvatron, and maybe another KSI generic design. I would also like a re-release of the shadow raider, I should have army built that guy. Ya know what, a retool of TLK Hound to match his AOE body and weapons would also be welcome.
TLK wise, we still need almost all the con crew, some of those generics using the scrapyard as a hiding place based on other robot mode designs, Infernocus and Quintessa, Canopy, and Hot Rod.
I also wouldn't mind a Titan Driller, and maybe a DotM retooled subline of Stealth Force characters, much like the BWII Cyborg retools.

We know Fallen's on his way (as is DotM Bee), but we also still need Demolishor from Scavenger's mold (and they could do Payload/yellow Long Haul if they wanted).D-Maximal_Primal wrote:RotF I think at this point only really needs the twins in both modes, Alice, Scalpel, and of course THE FALLEN.
Galvatron's coming, I would agree Hound is in order, and they could still do the KSI garage truck Junkheap to round out the KSI crew (since I don't expect to see a Two-Head anytime soon). They could also put out car Drift, since the only car Drift in SS so far was his TLK colors, but I think everything else listed here is higher-priority.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:AOE needs a new attempt at evasion mode Prime and Bee, the 3 Dinobots not called Grimlock, maybe a new attempt at Knight Prime and ninja Bee, a new Galvatron, and maybe another KSI generic design. Agreed on a lot said here. I would not mind it if the other 7 constructicons actually got repaints to make a full 2nd Devastator. Payload and Demolishor at bare minimum should be done for sure.
I think the AOE Drift works well enough for car mode Drift personally, but a re-release wouldn't hurt in the line.
I was hoping for a Junkheap, but also a Trax would be nice too. I still regret not army building KSI figures too, I was stupid at the wrong time in SS.
the WWII guys would be great, and Daytrader could be a Hound retool.
I think the HMS Alliance would be really neat to see happen. there is concept art of HMS Victory being a giant robot, and that would be cool itself, or as a basis for the Alliance's robot mode.
I also wouldn't mind a chance to see other robots from the historical paintings get retools into alt modes for those time periods. Give me an Ironhide that turns into a little ship, that would be awesome. So much potential there.

Got a question: what are your hopes/expectations for the later figures this year?
For DOTM Bee I’m really hoping he has a new unmasked head (WWII Bee’s head sculpt is perfect, they can use that as a base and change up the helmet), and there’s quite a bit of retooling they need to do for Bee’s different look but I think the biggest one is the new harness piece on the chest, I’m curious how they handle that.
I’m not sure what to expect for Sideways, I’m guessing he’ll have his buzzsaws as weapons since they show up in the concept art. There’s rumors that he’ll be a Dino remold and I’m not sure how that would work, but we’ll have to see.
For The Fallen, I’m really hoping he has a removable face. Maybe a Matrix of Leadership with a little transparent stand so it floats in his hand?

I am hoping he will be huge, like 9-10 inches tall. They can put more in his size since he really doesn't transform. I also want him to have a removable face, staff that folds and can go through his head, and a matrix.

Oh right. On the one hand, no great loss. On the other hand, which altmode should the figure have?
It's like the comments above regarding The Fallen. Technically they could simply make him in the RED line and state that is the SS iteration.
