Secondly we have a brand new Japanese trailer for the series, which Sabrblade sent our way. You can view it here.

Japanese trailer, featuring all new footage.
Note that the characters all use their Hasbro names, so no "Convoy", "Bumble", "Cybertron", "Destron", etc. It's all "Optimus Prime", "Bumblebee", "Autobot", "Decepticon", etc.

Interestingly enough, it's Hōchū Ōtsuka, who has played the likes of Ultra Magnus in Transformers: The Headmasters, Guyhawk in Transformers: Victory, and huge amount of other roles in anime, video games, and Japanese dubs of Western media.Lorekeeper wrote:Megatron's Japanese voice is nice and deep
Optimus, meanwhile, is of course Tesshō Genda, reprising his role of Optimus from the G1 cartoon and live action movies, as well as many other roles of his own.
Sadly, they couldn't get Megatron's original Japanese G1 voice actor, Seizō Katō, due to his passing away back in 2014.

Still, if Kingdom manages to do some good storytelling as well as make the characters stand out from the G1 crew (even if they won't be like the old show), then I'd probably stomach Kingdom better than I would Siege and potentially Earthrise. We'll see.

Quantum Surge wrote:Wow, we're getting all these teases before an Earthrise show is announced...and we haven't even seen the first episode of Siege yet!
I'm sure that's Netflix's fault. The series was originally supposed to be streamed in full on June 30 and probably Earthrise would have been previewed immediately after making the Kingdom reveal a little more timely. But Netflix just had to wait for all of the foreign dubs to finish and we ended up with everything out of order.

The first WFC fan vote had 3 options, and there were 3 sub-lines. Mirage and Impactor were released in Siege, along with Spinister (who might be a bumped up Earthrise figure since Wave 5 was a new addition), and Wheeljack was released in Earthrise. Tracks and Needlenose for Kingdom confirmed.

Agreed. It’s disappointing the trilogy finishes this way, but it will be nice to save a bunch of money. Hopefully we’ll see Blaster and his minions sometime soon, maybe at the tail end of Earthrise.

I'm a lot more interested in seeing new takes on BW figures than slightly altered G1 characters yet again.

I wouldn't say I hate it, but I'm definitely not at all interested... I mean I really couldn't care less... BW might as well be BeyBlades in my eyes.
But yeah, definitely interested in saving some cashola!
With this being official, who knows; if the leader class spoiler figure isn't Galvatron, I may end up getting ER Smokescreen afterall.

It should be noted that according to the leaks Kingdom won't be entirely Beast Wars, there will still be some G1 characters.

Man, I hope this happens soon. There aren't too many more Siege-style figures of G1 characters that I need, and I'm already getting two of my most wanted in the SS86 line (Jazz and Grimlock). Getting a new Blaster too would be the icing on the cake, and would check off all of the big names save Star Saber.adamage1 wrote:Hopefully we’ll see Blaster and his minions sometime soon, maybe at the tail end of Earthrise.

My biggest thing with Kingdom, was the logic of it. Would the Maximals/Predacons be stuck on Earth until the Autobots/Decepticons woke up? Would the G1 folks wake up early? Is it gonna be time travel shenanigans? its always time travel shenanigans
But now that it has been confirmed that the third season of the Netflix show is Kingdom I am going to trust there is a logical evolution of the story that gives us Beast Wars characters with G1 characters. So with that out of mind, my thoughts go to the figures themselves. My bro and I are ten years apart and we got to watch Beast Wars together. Definitely happy to get some Beast Wars figures with current engineering, materials, and processes. But certain things about this line so far have me... Concerned. Scale has been kind of important, so will the Beast replace the Micromasters? I know there has been a leak about Deluxe Cheetor, so does that mean scale will only play along the same lines: G1 scales with other G1 while Beast Wars scale with other Beast Wars and then they match so the deluxes and voyagers are all the same?
Personally, I hope the fiction brings the Beast Wars characters to the "future", as Megatron's attempt to turn every Cybertronian into a Decepticon would change the timeline and erase their existence.

The leak detailing a few of the Kingdom figures from last week suggests that the Beast Wars cast will be spread across the little, Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader size classes, so yes they most likely will scale with one another but not with the G1 cast.

Cool, that should make the next part of the trilogy rather interesting. Magnaboss would be my first Commander Class and Blackarachnia is a definite buy as well.

Runabout has an ER number, so that's probably not real. Plus, the leaker said that neither the Commander nor the Titan are BW.aronjlove wrote:Cool, that should make the next part of the trilogy rather interesting. That's the Golden Disk(sic), it's a real world thing and McGuffin in Beast Wars.
That's G1 Megatron's/Galvatron's head, not Beast Megatron.
Every time I look at that poster I'm confident the bird is Airazor since Tigatron is right there, but convinced it's Silverbolt the more I look at it since it looks more like a bald eagle instead of a hawk.

Oh yeah, I remember that. Dinobot was worried about the future being changeable when the disc was destroyed. And I remember it being a MacGuffin in Star Trek The Motion Picture too. That golden disc gets around.

I will be glad if that list turns out to be fake (which seems likely). I mean, a lot of the stuff looked good but I do not want to picture Blackarachnia as a current-day Deluxe.
If the more reliable leaker says that the Commander is not BW.. I wonder if that means my hoped-for Commander-Class Magnus (SIEGE is great and all, but a Generations Leader hasn't got a prayer of carrying 4 Deluxe-class cars and the 3P slackers still haven't made a larger trailer for him) will come true.

Well, considering that the source of this news came from Netflix...Rodimus Prime wrote:I wonder if this will be just a toy line inspired by the original BW series, or if it will get its own supporting media, be it a show or comics. And will it last long enough to incorporate Beast Machines?
And considering that Kingdom is Part 3 of the War For Cybertron Trilogy, which is to have its own Netflix show for all three parts of said trilogy...

Since it has been confirmed only by Netflix and not yet Hasbro, that would be horrible if Hasbro and Netflix aren't seeing eye to eye on Part 3 and both are doing something different. I highly doubt it but I've seen it happen with other media.

It's not the "War ON Cybertron", it's the "War FOR Cybertron", which over the past 36 years has been fought in media set on Earth and many other non-Cybertron settings. No matter where they fought, Cybertron was the prize.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:The War for Cybertron, by name alone, should consist of the planet on some level. I also hope that Shockwave will be a central character as well, he's one of those rare gifts that just keeps on giving in the hands of the right writer. Plus I'm kinda tired of it always being Megatron. I was never a huge fan of IDW, but I lived the fact thst in the end it was revealed that Shockwave was behind everything as Onyx Prime.
Will the series be available to view at or around midnight or are we going to have to wait until like 9 in the morning? I'm off work on Thursday and I might have enough time to watch the whole thing, if it's not too long.

Sabrblade wrote:Ugh, that answer F.J. gives about "timelines" is really gonna confuse so many people, since his particular phrasing makes it sound like he's saying that this Siege cartoon is going to be a prequel to the 1984 G1 cartoon.
More than sounds like, he clearly stated it is a prequel to the G1 cartoon.
The Siege toyline itself was based on the first episode of the G1 cartoon so i can see how that statement echoes that.
But you know, G1 always consisted of multiple simultaneous renditions anyways that it never was one thing . And we still see thst now with Siege, IDW, and Cyberverse all being "G1" in their own way.
