Fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath found some new images of Takara Transformers Legends LG31 Fortress Maximus on Amazon Japan. We finally see their version of "Cerebros" and "Spike"/Emissary which are both called "Fortress" in Japan.
While the head for the deluxe robot is very different, as a comparison will show below, it seems that the tiny head-sculpt of the headmaster has remained the same. You will also find new images of the giant robot himself.
And more pix of the giant --

It's a very pretty figure but I'm at a point where I look at my metroplex and notice how dusty he is. He's honestly a display piece. I've probably taken him down and "played" with him once this year and I know that's what will happen to Fort Max so I'm honestly contemplating not getting one.

God I wish it was easier to decide between versions of this guy. Metroplex was pretty easy.... Chome? y/n
I think takara's central grey tower, and the base "ramp" looks a lot better. and the sticker windows are a really nice plus.
But... SDCC's thighs look a lot better with some paint on them.
I'd argue the Hasbro retail version has the least going for it.... but at this point *it* has the exclusive titanmaster.

Yeah, what gives, Takara? Hasbro's already shown theirs for SDCC, so now you've got free reign to show off your own Master Sword. Let's see it already.Sigma Magnus wrote:...still not showing the sword, huh?

Also wish that Rebirth-Cerebros were sold separately so I could pose him with the other Headmasters. Because Fortress Maximus is where I draw the line.
btw LG Hardhead, Skullcruncher, Weirdwolf, Blaster, Shockwave, Wheelie & Blurr are available for pre-order on HLJ again. Either someone cancelled their order or HLJ had added more -- http://hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?utm_source=seibertron.com&SeriesID=6038&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=news%20post

You know, if Takara wanted to, I could see them doing a special exclusive or campaign figure release of the Rebirth Cerebros head and body without Fort Max as the actual Rebirth cartoon version of the character with Spike as his Headmaster, with a bio describing him as the Rebirth cartoon incarnation who controlled Fortress Maximus in another timeline from the one that Fortress controlled Battleship Maximus in, allowing Takara to treat "Fortress" and "Cerebros w/ Spike" as separate characters, and allowing Takara to do a show-accurate version of Rebirth Cerebros (Hasbro's has blue in its deco for some bizarre reason).Cyberpath wrote:Also wish that Rebirth-Cerebros were sold separately so I could pose him with the other Headmasters. Maybe this special Takara Cerebros toy could even have its own unique voice clips taken from the Japanese dub of The Rebirth, spoken by either Ken Narita (Cerebros), Kōji Ochiai (Rebirth Spike), and/or Kunihiko Yasui (Rebirth Fort Max).

MGrotusque wrote:Only thing i want from this release is Cerebros.
I feel the same, and... to me, that's pretty bizarre, because what exactly is Cerebros on his own?
He's a pretty generic robot with no particular outstanding features, the only colour on his entire body are his blue visor and red autobot symbol; he doesn't really have weapons of his own aside from the smaller master sword in SDCC and Takara (at least, I don't remember him having any), all he transforms into is a head and part of a building; and I personally don't have a particular connection to the character.
So he's a colourless generic robot that transforms into nothing who I don't care about.
... but he's so cool and I want him???

No, it wasn't. Galvatron was riding in Cyclones at the time. Scourge pops his head up and says "You want me to gut Ultra Magnus?"
Galvatron says "There are plenty of Autobots for you. Ultra Magnus is mine!"
Posted by Sabrblade on June 29th, 2016 @ 10:46am CDT
Scourge isn't the one speaking. Scourge's head pops up, but its mouth doesn't move. The voice itself wasn't even Stan Jones. It was Roger C. Carmel. Cyclonus has a total of two lines in the whole movie. "You want me to gut Ultra Magnus?" and "The Autobots have been terminated!" are the only lines Carmel says as Cyclonus in the whole movie (any other lines he had were spoken by a Quintesson).RodimusConvoy13 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Ironic, since it was Cyclonus who said that line.Kurona wrote:Ah, the old "want me to gut ultra magnus?"

The best way to end the argument is to look for the actual movie scripts. Does Sorensen also own a copy and posted online?
Never mind

Preliminary script of the movie. Some of the lines made it into the Marvel Comic adaptation. And Scourge did the cool pop up head but the line "gut him" is attributed to Cyclonus.

Scourge's only lines given are "But remember, WE belong to HIM!", and a line that didn't make it into the final movie: "No survivors!"

What is weird is that given the context of the scene, script or not, it should have been Scourge who said it as Cyclonus, already carrying Galvatron needn't try to suck up to Galvs while Scourge, well, why'd he pop up his head unless he wanted to show off his "gerwalk" mode or wanted to verbally brown nose Galvs of gutting UM.
Then again, the 1986 movie had quite a number of WTF? scenes. Such as Unicron's rings behind Lithone's buildings, Sunstreaker being in two places (Moonbase shuttle with PIme and Lookout mountain), 'cracker and SW being "alive" during SS's coronoation......etc.
