How many of you have been collecting the map pieces that come with your mainline Transformers Earthrise toys? I know I haven't, which is why it was pretty cool to see a complete map in this Earthrise Trhust video review. We have the video below along with a still of the map.

Lore Keeper sent us this review of his.

As cool as the finished map is, the pieces from Wave 2 are still misprinted, right? Did later releases of those figures have the correct decodable printing?

I had been trying to build the map. but some figures never showed up in my area, while one or two figures I wasn't going to get, and trying to just get their packaging proved to be stupid expensive online.

Hey,
a couple questions for anyone who wants to share their insights.

First, how much longer do people expect to see ER in stores?
I never saw wave 2 (or beyond) deluxes... I know there's a chance I missed seeing them, but it's really doubtful--
Until a few weeks ago, I lived .3 miles from a Target that I went into frequently (a lot of times I'd stop by the toys section when the main point of going in was for something completely different).
So "frequently" meaning multiple times a week.
The last figures I saw were the ones I bought (Hoist and Ironworks) on the buy one get one 50% off sale at the beginning of November.
The main reason for the ask is that I would exchange these two for Sunstreaker and Trailbreaker (or possibly an Allicon).
I know distribution has been funky to say the least, but with Kingdom and SS86 now in stores (I scored Scourge and Hot Rod today, and still ZERO ER deluxes or voyagers), is ER distribution pretty much done now?

Next question...
Will it be possible to exchange these 2 ER figures for Deluxes from either SS86 and/or Kingdom?

The whole point is to try and get a couple for $27 instead of $40.

Thanks for any help!!

I wouldn't expect to see any new ER figures in stores, although some might have some surprise stock that was found in back, I generally wouldn't count on it.

Target might let you exchange the 2 figures you have for a couple like price bots from Kingdom or SS.

Just waiting for my last three Earthrise figures to come in (Rung, Trailbreaker, and Optimus Prime) and I'll have all the pieces. Just need to figure out a place to put it, looks like it'll take up a whole poster frame.

I hear ya... Although it's very odd that I never saw any wave 2 or 3 deluxes (or voyagers minus Thrust), seems like the ER ship has sailed. I guess I may just look for Sunstreaker online.

And since that old sale put each deluxe at just over $13, I'm hoping I find SS86 Jazz, and would settle for Kingdom Warpath at that price.

I saw wave 2 briefly. And a single Runabout at Target today. No deluxes from wave 3, no Quintesson, Megatron or Thrust. Fortunately I got what I wanted from Amazon.

You'll need at least a 24" x 36" frame (inner surface area).

Wave 2 and 3 stock went almost as soon as it was in at most stores. If you have any Aldis near you, they recently got a bunch of wave 2 stuff. They might be your best bet.

This won't mean much to collectors outside the midwest U.S., but I got all 4 wave 3 deluxes at Meijer, including Fasttrack and Trailbreaker just yesterday. Never seen them anywhere else, except for maybe 1 Fasttrack at a Target. Only seen the Quintesson in a specialty shop, and never Megatron.

And while I too got 3/4 of Wave 2's deluxes at Aldi's in early December, many of their stores were picked clean long before Christmas.

While I too hope to see some ER in stores, the fact that Kingdom is already upon us is a sign that any remaining stock from the previous line would end up in Market six stores (which we have already seen with Aldi's). And while Target may have changed their policies, they have in the past been accepting of toys being returned in exchange of a similar toy of equal value. So it's worth a shot.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a print or poster of it. Like, let's say someone cut each piece out real nice and put it all on a black background. But no way could I do something like that, at least not without it looking bad.

Thanks to all who shared some input on my questions...

I know figures have been available online... Outside of wanting to do an exchange and save a bit of $$, I also like being able to see figures in person, especially when I've been on the fence about buying a lot from ER.
While I'm more focused on figures I know I want, I was also trying to avoid the after-market price gouging.

Hopefully being a RedCard user means if I can find Jazz in the next month, I'll be able to do at least one exchange... Wasn't planning on keeping Hoist, but like him way over any modulator.
Fingers crossed a deluxe-for-a-deluxe exchange will go through even through they're not from the same line.

If anyone has an Aldi with any ER deluxes left, it might be worth taking a peek. I was originally going to skip ER Arcee having the T30 version. But I found one in a random bin of leftover Christmas toys ay my Aldi with no indication of a price. I brought it up to the register with my groceries, and for $6.75, I let her come home with me.

Likewise, especially since I’ll never be able to complete one myself. The Vok’s region of space being present on the map has me rather excited for where this series will go.

Seems like there's always been a segment of the fandom that either actively or passively dislikes back matter with their toys, yet Hasbro pretty much invented back matter for toys.

I could have sworn Masters of the Universe predated Transformers... ;)

However, just because hasbro worked hard at the advertising, doesn't mean that fans have to care. We're all different after all with different priorities. To key is to not judge other fans for those preferences.

True MOTU predated Transformers, but not A Real American Hero. And I didn't make a judgement, just a comment even though I do stand on the side of back matter.

Agreed... Having all 6 is really nice. Will, I hope your 2 pack shows up asap!

Also, for anyone willing, I'm pretty much done looking for ER figures (which is relatively frustrating since I never saw anything past wave 1), and now have a question--

How good of a figure is Hoist? Before I return him to my Target, any input would be appreciated.
I'll watch a couple more review videos and think it over for a bit... But I'm about ready to take him back.

Thanks for any help!

I like the mold overall and have both Hoist and Trailbreaker. If you want a solid Autobot with some height, he is a good mold for that. Pretty simple transformation, but satisfying as everything tabs into place nicely. The flip out towing rig is a nice touch for truck mode.

This may sound weird, but between his height & his coloring, those were two things that had me holding onto him.
The modulator figure is going back no matter what. Hopefully in exchange for a SS86 Jazz.
But looking at Hoist, I’m okay with him. I was talking a bit out of frustration earlier, but at the same time, I don’t mind him. The problem is, I told myself years ago that I’d only go for figures that I REALLY like.
I guess the other reason I may keep him is that I can tell myself he’s the figure I got for 50% in that sale.
That makes a pretty big difference for me.

Just as a heads up, the way Target handles returns versus exchanges is a bit different when a sale like the BOGO 50% is involved.

Assuming you got both at $20 each, but because for the sale only paid $30, Target will assign a return value to each item proportional to the total. In other words, if you just return Ironworks, they will refund you $15 instead of $20. But if you wait to find Jazz and do an exchange, instead of a return, then they should let you exchange for the full value instead of just a return for the pro-rated sale price.

For anyone who missed out on Scoropnok, BBTS just sent an email indicate he is up for pre-order at the original price estimated release in June.

https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/ ... m_content=

I'm guessing this may be tentative confirmation of a second run for Scorponok like Siege Omega Supreme got last year.

Thanks for the reminder. Kind of interesting that the receipt says 2 @ $13.- - (I don’t remember the number of cents). Used my RedCard so it was almost tax-free... Not complaining at alll; 2 for $27-ish? Yes please.

That would be my guess. The may have found a few cases in a warehouse after they were no longer on the shelves or on their website and determined there wasn't enough quantity to even bother.

I hope Walgreens is smart enough to do the same and sell the stock they're obviously not distributing for Earthrise Bluestreak to Entertainment Earth.

I know shipping logistics were a nightmare this past year because of COVID-19, but plenty of other toy products made it to the shelves on schedule, so what's the deal with all these Transformers retailer exclusives (and mass market products) falling to the wayside? Honestly, the only exclusive that arrived on time and in plenty of quantity (meaning it was available from the sale floor for multiple weeks) was Studio Series Leadfoot. Everything else has been in such limited quantity or never showed up in some regions at all. It's very suspicious. Did Hasbro lose a ton of Transformers product on that cargo ship that sank in the Pacific Ocean?
Re: Look at Completed Earthrise Map (2092799)
Posted by TF-fan kev777 on January 15th, 2021 @ 12:04pm CST
The container ship is certainly a possibility, but another possibility is that Covid-19 effected much more than just the shipping aspect of the business. At some point, I'm pretty sure the factory was shut down for at least a while whenever Viet Nam went through whatever mitigation measures back at the beginning of Covid. Once they were able to resume manufacturing, they were having to play catch up. Depending on what was in production at that time, or scheduled for production, I can see them having to make some decisions on what gets priority.

It would make sense to me for them to focus on the main retail release production first since that would delay things for pretty much all their outlets, as opposed to exclusives which would only delay whomever the exclusive partner was.

Pure speculation on my part, but makes sense.

I've found its just better to order online and have it shipped home. If I happen to come across something in store first, I'll snag it, but very few of my figures are actually store purchases. Amazon, TF Source, and BBTS are my saving grace. I don't do the pre order thing either. I wait for it to be in stock and then get it. I've had a lot of success this past year doing it this way.
I can see the shift continuing this way so that in the next 15 years or so, all figures will be released through online retailers, and not just exclusives.
