william-james88 wrote:Good old Siege Megatron. Many are tired of the mold but Hasbro is banking on you letting this new release slide since the newly revealed Transformers Shattered Glass Megatron has new parts to give the old mold a new alt mode. And he costs the same as a regular voyager, which is a pretty sweet deal. Plus with this redeco, you get the nice presentation for MOSC collectors and a special comic. All for $29.99. He is coming out October first of this year.

Looks like they bumped the price to $37, might want to change the article

Lolol definitely this one because they just shoehorned it in and Broadside's jet was part of the actual design
I love my Broadside but I never use his jet mode, and I mainly got him because I couldn't afford a fansproject assaulter at the time

But my god, the asking price from Hasbro in the UK? £34.99 is a bit much. To put it in perspective for the American buyers, that's the equivalent of $48. I was kinda happy to see that Pulse was being spread to other countries but the fact that Hasbro are charging UK fans a premium beyond the added price this already has, just doesn't sit well with me.
If they'd added about £4 to the original £23.99 of the Voyager price, roughly equivalent to what they added to the price for Americans, it'd be more acceptable (that's despite the fact that £23.99 is already higher than the American retail cost). It's a shame because I do kinda like the look of the figure but I cannot justify the price hike for a Voyager quality figure.
If it were like SS86 Hot Rod, who is smaller but has a much higher quality than pretty much any other Voyager we've had in a long time, then maybe it'd be okay. But with this Megatron that looks good but as a figure is largely just acceptable with a lot of hollow cavities? Nah.

looks like they will. There's a 5mm peg on both the sides and the tops of the wings, the side ones are for the spaceship configuration and the tops for the way they're oriented in robot mode.

Americas price has gone up, hasbro makes sure fans in every country gets screwed these days XD
On a side note I didnt realise it's the Siege mold so I'm out on this one unless Hasbro some how throws a free figure in with him (it's not that far off what SG Prime and Ratchet cost me). Kapows saying prices off hasbro figures to receive price hikes (which for most cases they already have -especially charging the next size class up prices for the size below it for some)

Anyhoo, thoughts: The colors look OK, and the new wings/canopy look clever in helping to conceal the old H-treads. But - they're STILL there. It doesn't help that the robot thighs are completely exposed. This makes me think that the entire front section of the alt mode is going to flop around a lot, unless they engineered some way to keep the robot hip joints from moving. Otherwise - that cockpit will suffer from severe drooping (don't snicker, Crow).
The robot mode looks a little encumbered by all the extra accessories, but otherwise, Siege Megatron was always OK in robot mode. The lack of feet that tilt forward on WFC figures always bugged me though, especially with this mold. Ditto for the hands which just won't fold out all the way.
Passing on this one - unless it winds up on discount.

Yeah, it wasn’t until a little while after I posted that I saw the wings require partsforming. Oh well, still going to keep my preorder. Also worth noting is they did seem to include the original sword, meaning that there is the option to retain the mold’s tank mode so that’s nice, unless there’s more extensive retooling that isn’t seen. Either way, I’ll be displaying him in robot mode like everything else I own. I hope they do some similar “close enough” efforts for the remainder of this subline, even if they don’t require it that badly (who’s left that was rumored; Goldbug, Starscream and Jetfire right?)

Not getting it, especially with its shipping cost to Canada and higher price. I've got my junked TF:P Arachnid to repurpose for the wings and use the original Siege's Meg sword to convert into the cockpit (by adding a few pieces of Lego) to make my own SG Meg whenever I feel like repainting my Siege Meg. That'll also give me reason to get the more G1-looking Earthrise Meg.
And this is more of a TF:P Megatron alt-mode wannabe than an re-imagined original figure, albeit a good looking one.

In regards to the altmode, I'm disappointed by the visible leg syndrome, but not enough to cancel out the hype. Probably going to try and fanmode it into a G1-ification of the rotf tankjet, depending on alternate attachment points for the canopy.

Thanks for the pic. Sad the sword is not translucent. It would gave looked cool with translucent blue blades like the wings.

I think it's technically the same markup, since Hasbro seems to be trying a second time to push Deluxes up to being $23 between their Pulse listings for Kingdom Wave 3 and Netflix Wave 3. People are just choosing to ignore it and purchase/pre-order their Deluxes from Amazon and other retailers that are also ignoring/resisting that change.alekese wrote:Keep in mind in regards to pricing that there is a pack in comic driving the price up. The markup on megs is also less than the one on blurr, at least in america. +$7 instead of +$10.

Sabrblade wrote:Aha, so the Energon Megatron parts exist after all! Either the leakers got the base figure wrong, or these were switched out from the Kingdom Galvatron mold. I wonder if there's any leftover compatibility.
I sure hope so, I really want to believe that "Galvatron Unicron" from the Amazon AU listing is Energon (Unicron Trilogy) Galvatron since it's sold at a higher price than other Leaders on there. Can't really see how it would work since he hides a lot of his peg holes between modes.
william-james88 wrote:Nemesis Primal wrote:Also joke's on you, News Team, I've never bought this mold before!

I've bought every use of the mold and I don't even like it, I'm just a glutton for punishment.
DeathReviews wrote:Another Siege Megatron? NOOOOOOOOOOO! How many of these figures must remain unsold before Hasbro gets the message that we want something better?
I've honestly never seen this mold shelf warm, but he's never been well stocked in my area. The 35th version and ER version weren't sold in my area, had to get those online. The Siege and Netflix versions always sold well. I honestly can't say I've seen any Transformer from any brand shelf warm since the first two Deluxe waves of Titans Return.
Back to the figure, I really wish they had used the alternate miner head, would have been more accurate and a little less evil looking.
At least with this figure I have a reason to stick the sword in the canon.

Fan0transform the thing. Add/replace some accessories. BOOM! New altmode!
I did it many time with my customs. I didn't knew Hasbro would do the same. This give me some ideas. If I find a Siege Megatron for cheap, I'll customise it into his IDW driller form.

But totally bought! I’m just going to take my megatron shelf and make a new shelf using just variations of this mold!
I like it but not for the homage to the original shattered glass megs. The reconfigured transformation reminds me of the end of the American/Japanese run of g1 where pretty much all the toys where just a sci-if bricks with very little articulation. Hits an odd nostalgia note from when I was a kid checking out the bootlegs of those toys at the Chinese importers stand at the farmers market. Feels custom tailored to me really.

I mean the community was able to bully Hasbro into changing the colors of Gigawatt’s alt mode windshield, maybe we can do it again by petitioning to use CH Megatron’s head sculpt?
