Personally, I prefer the combo sold at higher price, like they did with Selects Cyclonus.

Uh..
When it comes to Blanker (this is the Japanese name for Point Blank)
Blanker is not the targetmaster gun's name, we will most likely be getting pointblank with his Targetmaster peacemaker.

He'll just be deluxe priced and his accessory will be the simple targetmaster you see there.
We saw that they can plan for 2 packs without having to go higher. Like Blaster and Eject still just being a voyager release.

Though I suspect we'll see a Frenzy/Rumble repaint along with others before a Ravage.

I’ll likely use the Legends version of Peacemaker from the Takara release of TR/LG Topspin instead.

Blanker looks...fine, I guess? Would love to see the full car and not just the front half, but he's probably still a pass for me. Peacemaker looks exactly as compromised as I kinda expected, hopefully Needlenose doesn't also suffer from trying to force a Targetmaster into the Deluxe pricepoint later.
1. They called the Targetmaster by the correct name in that quote, not sure what you're correcting.Cyber Bishop wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:So are we getting a Peacemaker with Blanker here in the West? Would that make him voyager priced? Or will peacemaker be sold separately?

2. Hasbro revealed the figure as Autobot Blanker, not Pointblank, so he will be releasing in the West as Blanker.
Looks to me like the legs still fold over the torso like the G1 original, but the barrel is actually in the legs rather than covered by them, you can see the red hinge for the barrel by the feet, so the bot body lying under the gun is facing the other way. That would also match the "Peacemaker transforms in 2 steps" callout from his product description.Sabrblade wrote:Peacemaker looks basically like an all-too-faithful recreation of his G1 mold.

Even better. I just wasn't sure if Hasbro would do that, since deluxes do cost less than voyagers and they have sold battlemasters separately.william-james88 wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:So are we getting a Peacemaker with Blanker here in the West? Maybe a more toy-accurate Scourge with Fracas can happen too like they did with Cyclonus...

I am happy to report that my Motormaster has none of the discoloration/photodegradation others have reported:
My copy of Sludge also does not suffer from knee-flop syndrome like the first-run reviews have shown, and his hips are holding fairly well, though they are a tad loose moving laterally outward for the first inch or so, but he holds both legs fully extended to the side like a champ.
Hopefully the rest of you are having similar luck. Both figures look phenomenal, and I absolutely cannot wait until Menasor is completed. The reveal today of Dead End’s alt mode made me smile, as it looks spot on, and thankfully they included his iconic stripe.

Dead End looks pretty good. Might get 2 of him, he is by far my favorite stunticon thanks to Cyberverse. And funny enough, he was not homaged in Robots in disguise, so that's a funny thing too

While it might have been nice to get a more "modern" looking Peacemaker, similar to the Siege Battlemasters, I think it's an issue of how the molding on those works. The limbs have to be a different color than the torso, so they look more uniform in gun mode. Sure, they could paint them, but that's likely not an option with the budget they have. Take Selects Cyclonus. He's a figure all about toy accuracy. So wouldn't they make Nightstick with black arms and a black torso, and make him with silver legs, since that's what his G1 toy had? Nope. Silver legs and arms, black torso.

Blanker is the stupidest f-ing name to replace his actual name of Pointblank. I went back and saw that they were releasing him under this stupid ass name after I posted.

I'd say it's the least dumb one. At least Blanker is the character's name in Japan, so they are still calling the character by a name linked to him since G1. It's not like they called him "Redcar" or "Poopybot".

I also can't wait to get this set completed...

Fracas, the second from the left, is the torso and legs of Nightstick from Generations Selects Artfire with the arms and gun barrel of Fracas from the Siege Phantomstrike Squadron multipack.

Oops, good catch! You’re right, it is indeed Phantomstrike Squadron Fracas I used for the arms and gun barrel. I misremembered who in the set got remained as “Shrute.” I’ll call my mistake an homage to Takara renaming Fracas as “Nebulon” and then swapping names with Nightstick when they gave Scourge’s and Cyclonus’ Targetmasters to Artfire and Stepper respectively.

For the past 3 days, online, the Target closest to me says it "in Stock" they have 8, meaning a full case. Also for the past 3 days, they've been doing a reset to the toy aisle and taking their sweet time about it. Sorry I know in terms of life itself, this is petty and unimportant but...I know how scalpers are in my area. The minute this gets on the shelf, they will be gone. I just want one for me.
The same two ladies have been giving me the same sob story (I went in yesterday AND This morning) about how there's 16 pallets in the back....blah blah blah...meanwhile all I see is picture after picture of Red Cog on Target shelves on stores in other states...I'm sorry, as someone who used to work in retail, making about 1/3 of what these people make I have no sympathy. I try not to be that jerk collector, but my patience is wearing thin. My questions and demeanor were all very respectful, but the Target employees chose to have an attitude, all while some Hotwheels collector was down on his knees like Gollum, going through boxes looking for his "precious". I know Red Cog is available online, but why should I have to pay an additional $7 for shipping and wait 7-10 days for an item I KNOW is at a Target store that is a 10 minute drive from my home? Lastly, I am on call for Jury duty this week. With how things are going, my group will probably be called in for tomorrow, and there goes that. Oh well...since that is downtown Sacramento, I may be able to check a different Target at the end of the day I normally cant get to.

agreed, but I prefer my cars to be actual limbs rather than the cartoon accurate carmor look. I get that some people really go for the cartoon accuracy, but sometimes that accuracy is detrimental to the design and in the case of the combiners, I feel like it renders the "combining" kind of pointless.

Menosaur for me feels like they almost hit it but they didn't. The motormaster is defienteley better than the combiner wars version though. I the leg panels disappeared into the torso, and the bottom the the car mode was the front of the foot like the g1 toy, it'd be much better. It be perfect enough if the arms wproved just like the regular Cw on top of that. But this is still the best official menosaur....

I think we discussed in the "toys Hasbro/TT will never make" thread....the concept of the Gobots/Machine Robo power suits/Power Warrior is really cool. I'd love to see a new Transformers concept developed with that idea, but not changing a previous toy to become that really isn't my preference. Also the Power Warrior should be more versatile to accommodate almost any deluxe Transformer. Menasor is very specific only able to fit one character. The legs "might" be interchangable, but the developer said specifically the arms can't even be swapped.

This dude frikkin ROCKS!!!! His articulation is crazy! He has so many joints and can throw so many poses! It's nuts!
He is also super well colored. he is visually so much fun to look at. He's super fun to move around and he doesn't really have an angle where he looks cheap, unpainted, or bad. He's just that good!
The weapon is super cool too. They did really good there. The giant spinning axe head is amazing.
He's really good folks. Like, really good.

If the scaling of the dino modes were more to my liking, I'd consider that, but as it is, I like their bot modes much more.
I understand why people would want Menasor to combine/look different.
However, I'm more than okay with what we're getting, and I appreciate that it's not the same combining system as Superion, Defensor, Bruticus, Computron, and Abominus.

By all means, use CW Motormaster with the Legacy limbs if you want. But the point of Legacy Menasor is to be cartoon accurate and they're doing a bloody good job of it.
Don't like it? Don't buy it. There's never going to be that one perfect figure that appeals to everyone.

With the development team saying they're interested in doing more Combiners like Menasor I'm really afraid of what that might mean. If they just mean cartoon accurate that's one thing, but we don't need other combiners using this same frame system, it wouldn't look right.

I highly doubt this same combining system would be used for any other combiner.
That would just be a step in the wrong direction.
And with Hastak branching out now into different series, the G1 characters are (as they should) going to most likely stay true to their cartoon models.
I personally hope a new set of Constructicons is next.
This is about the only thing that would keep me in the game past the Dinobots and Insecticons I’ve been waiting so long for.
Although I just saw leaked listings for Core Grimlock, Swoop, & Snarl…

I doubt they are doing the Constructicons or Predacons anytime soon, for obvious reasons.
I look at Combiner Wars and there is one team we all know that got done dirty: The Technobots. They deserve better figures than being treated as exclusive leftovers comprised of remolds/repaints. They should be the next combiner team redone.

Yeah, but we’re going on 9 years since CW Devastator. And assuming he’s not getting a new version next year, 2024 makes it a full decade since getting that set.
I know they’re not the most popular characters individually, but that’s still 6 Decepticon characters, when it seems like there are so many more Autobots.
I personally love my UW set of Technobots. The add-on kits help for sure.
But he’s one of my favorites from CW/UW.
I also think Predaking deserves a better version.

I'm extremely glad that Hasbro release the main 3 Coneheads, as I got cancelled on them all. But release it in a non-exclusive Selects 3 pack makes more sense to me.
